Power meter brand Stages Cycling appear to have ceased operations with all staff being laid off. This comes from a report initially picked up by Escape Collective but it has also been reported that numerous sources with ties to the brand have indicated that Stages has immediately stopped shipping orders to customers and is no longer taking new orders. Almost all of Stages product range is now listed as out of stock on the website.

Stages is best known for its crank-based power meters and became a big factor in the market when Team Sky started using them back in 2014 with the partnership continuing until 2019.

It was considered one of the most budget-friendly options for people looking for a power meter. The single non-drive side crank arm housed the strain gauges with the software simply doubling one side's input to give a total power reading.

Although best known for its power meters Stages did also venture into the world of bike computers and indoor training making a range of indoor training bikes. Topping its indoor trainer range was the SB20 smart bike which is still currently listed on its website.

In the cycling community Stages might best be known for its crank based power meters, however, most of the brand's business came from the commercial sales of indoor bikes for gyms.

In the UK Stages was distributed by Saddleback which will be honouring customer warranty claims as well as holding some stock. Elsewhere around the world, it is best to check directly with the local distributor for specific details regarding spare parts and warranties.
